18 Days Uganda and Rwanda Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park

Set off at 0700hrs to Murchison Falls National Park. Make a stop  in Masindi  for lunch and then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, the most beautiful protected area in Uganda. You will take a drive to the top of the falls where you will enjoy and marvel at the mighty Nile being forced in a seven meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades that can be viewed at different points at the summit. Proceed to the lodge have the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast , embark on a thrilling game drive on the northern bank of the Nile , escorted with a game ranger expect to see elephants, Giraffe, countless Antelope , Hartebeest, Lions, Oribis, Waterbucks and a variety of savannah woodland birds. After Lunch, you will go for a launch trip upstream on Victoria Nile. Abundant birdlife can also be sighted like the rare shoebill stork, Red fronted bee eater, silver bird and Blue mantled coucal. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Fort Portal – Kibale National Park

After breakfast, set off for Kibale National Park. On arrival at Fort portal you will check in your lodge to relax as you wait to dine at the lodge.

Day 4: Chimp Tracking – Kibale National Park

After breakfast, report to Kanyanchu Tourist centre for briefing. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical forest, in search of the wild chimpanzees.  The National Park is a home of the endangered Chimpanzee and boosts of having one of the highest concentrations of primates in East Africa. Primate Species includes endangered chimpanzee, threatened red colobus monkey, Black and White colobus, Blue monkey bush babies and the Nocturnal Potto. After lunch, have a nature walk to the Bigodi Wetland. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Fort Portal- Semuliki National Park

Have an early breakfast and transfer to Semliki National Park in Bundigyo. In the afternoon you can visit the Sempaya Hot springs or visit the Pygmies just adjacent to Ntandi park gate. Transfer to Semliki Safari Lodge in Semliki wildlife reserve. Enjoy a night drive and look out for nocturnal species like leopard, lion, spotted genets, white tailed mongoose, eagles, owls, night jars. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After Breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Have lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon, go for a nature walk to Maramagambo forest or have a drive to the explosion craters in Katwe. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge

Day 7Game Drive  and Launch Cruise

After an early morning breakfast, go for a game drive to view animals like lions, Elephants and Buffaloes. After Lunch, you will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel which joins Lake Edward to Lake George. On this cruise you will view abundant birdlife, buffaloes, Elephants and perhaps the highest concentration of Hippos in Africa. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast proceed to Lake Bunyonyi. Your drive will get you to see some beautiful scenery of the Kabale highlands, on to the Lake Bunyonyi environs for a day of relaxation enjoying the beautiful scenery and serene environment. Arrive just in time for lunch at the lodge. Relax at your lodge as you wait to dine at Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort/Arcadia Cottages.

Day 9: Lake Bunyonyi

Have breakfast at leisure, some relaxing moments on the shores of this peaceful lake are most welcome. The options here are birding tour, nature walks, swimming or canoeing, Village walks. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi – Parc National des Volcans

Set off in the morning after breakfast and proceed to Parc National Des volcans in Rwanda. Arrive late in the afternoon, check in your place of accommodation. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Hotel.

Day 11: Gorillas in Rwanda

The forested slopes of the virungas form an appropriately dramatic natural setting for what is arguably the most poignant and most memorable Wildlife Safari Experience in the vast African Wilderness- Gorilla Tracking Safari.  After an early breakfast, Set off for gorilla trekking. Expect to walk long distances sometimes with rain overhead before you encounter any gorillas.

Day 12: Ruhengeri – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Drive to Bwindi where you arrive in the afternoon. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest. There are five walking trails to choose from.  You can choose to relax at the lodge. Enjoy your dinner and overnight at the Lodge

Day 13: Bwindi – Gorilla trekking

This morning, after a briefing by the park rangers, commence your trek in search of gorillas. Enter the gorilla sanctuary for tracking, pushing your way through the undergrowth and parting thick creepers. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movement of these great giants. If you have the afternoon free, you may decide to take a guided walk on the Munyanga River trail, which is an ideal short walk or take a guided village walk. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo with a lunch stop in Mbarara town. Arrive at the park late in the evening. Dinner and Overnight the Lodge

Day 15: Game drive/launch cruise

After breakfast take a morning game drive. Expect to see Zebras, Impalas, water bark, Topi among others. In the afternoon you will go for a boat trip on Lake Mburo to see animals such as Hippos, Buffaloes and bird life then evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge

Day16: Transfer to Jinja

After morning breakfast, take a brief game drive and then you will leave for Jinja the re-known source of the Longest River in Africa. On arrival in Kampala, you will head East passing coffee, Tea and Sugar plantations and the colorful roadside fruit/vegetable markets.  Continue to the source of the Nile. This is a spot where John Speke first discovered the source of the Nile River. You will continue to Jinja Nile Resort/Sunset hotel where you will be staying. Dinner and overnight the Hotel

Day 17: White water Rafting/bungee jump

After breakfast, we transfer to Jinja where the mighty Nile begins its long journey to the Mediterranean Sea. After a full safety demonstration, you will then have a ½ day adventure of white water rafting. After your lunch, you will take your afternoon trip. Two Kilometres upstream beside the Jinja Nile Resort is the Nile High Camp which has a 44 metre bungee jump. You will hit a series of wild rapids, before returning to Kampala.

Day 18: Departure

You can relax at the hotel in the morning then prepare for your flight depending on your departure time. We shall transfer you to the airport depending on your departure time.
