4 Days Gorilla Tracking Safari

DAY 1: Transfer from hotel to Bwindi national park.

After breakfast, leave your hotel in the morning and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park which is a home to over 400 endangered mountain gorilla species and other primates. You will have a stop in Masaka at the equator for photo shoots and then proceed to Mbarara for a hot a lunch at Agip Motel from where you will again embark on the road to the park.

Dinner and overnight stay at: Chameleon hill lodge (luxury), Mahogany springs lodge (mid-range), Buhoma community rest camp (budget).

DAY 2:Gorilla tracking experience.

Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast as you move out of the lodge with packed lunch to the park headquarters to have a brief session about the do’s and don’ts while with the gorillas in the forest and make sure your physically fit and have the appropriate attire for the jungle as it’s an impenetrable thick forest which is normally wet. Head into the forest for an exciting primate experience where you will be in close proximity with the gorillas and after they have been tracked you will be allowed to spend 1-2 hours with the gorillas to take photos and have a memorable experience. Later you will move back to the lodge and have a restful evening where you will be served dinner and overnight stay at: Clouds mountain gorilla lodge (luxury), Nkuringo Bwindi gorilla lodge (mid-range), wagtail eco-lodge (budget).

DAY 3: Batwa experience and community walk.

This is another adventurous experience in the forest where you will move into the jungle after your breakfast to the Batwa trail and have a feel of the originally forest dwellers and hunter-gathers. Later go back to the lodge and have lunch then head for a community walk around the forest. These walks offer tourists eye catching views like those of a typical Ugandan rural homestead setting in this region especially the Buhoma village walk. Tourists get to visit the local traditional healers, the banana beer brewing demonstration site, captivating traditional cultural performance in the evenings.

Dinner and overnight stay at: Buhoma lodge (luxury), silverback lodge (mid-range), Buhoma rest camp (budget).

DAY 4: Transfer to Kampala.

Leave early in the morning after having breakfast and embark on your journey back to Kampala as you pass through the beautiful scenery of kigezi highlands via Kabale to Masaka where you will stop for a hot lunch and photography at the equator as you proceed to Kampala for your departure.
