5 Days Kidepo Wildlife Safari

Day One: Transfer from Kampala to Kitgum

Your guide will be at your hotel by 0600am for your pick up. You will then embark on an 8-10 hours drive through the renowned Luwero Triangle.  You will then continue through Nakasongola to Gulu where you will have lunch. After lunch in Gulu you will then carry on with your journey to Kitgum town where will check into Boma Guest House for dinner and overnight.

Day Two: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

You will leave your accommodation after breakfast to transfer to the park. Drive through the Karamajong community, to reach Kidepo Valley National Park at around mid day. Upon arrival in the park, you will embark on a 2 hour game drive in this spectacular park. This Park is gifted with animals like Elephant, Jackal, Leopard, Cheetah, Bush duiker, Lions, Warthogs, Bushbuck, Bush Pig, Buffalo, Zebra etc. Have lunch at the Lodge, Relax and later in the afternoon, you will go for another game drive. Dinner and overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge or Apoka Bandas.

Day Three: Safaris in Kidepo Valley National Park

Wake up very early for a crack of dawn game drive to see nocturnal and early risers. By this time animals are lazy and sleepy hence less shy and easily approachable. The game drive will take between 2 and 3 hours after which you will return to the lodge for breakfast and later lunch as you relax and prepare for more adventure.

In the afternoon, you can enjoy a birding tour to see birds at Apoka Rest camp. You are likely to see the Clapperton’s Francolin a specie native to only Kidepo and others like Purple Heron, Abyssinian Roller, Abyssinian ground hornbill etc Retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day Four: Kidepo Valley National Park to Kitgum/Gulu

You will check out of the park after breakfast, do a brief game drive and drive to either Kitgum or Gulu for an overnight depending on the timing.

Day Five: Kitgum/Gulu to Kampala

Wake to your well made breakfast and continue with your journey back to Kampala.
