6 Days Primates and Wildlife

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park.
Your trip begins early morning with transfer from your hotel to Kibale forest national park via fort portal where you will see the mountains of the moon as you proceed to the park. Lunch will be served on arrival then have a restful afternoon preparing for a jungle visit the next morning. Have Dinner and overnight at Papaya lake lodge, Ndali lodge, Kibale forest camp.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking – Bigodi swamp tour
You will wake very early in the morning have breakfast and get your packed lunch and then head to the park headquarters in Kibale forest national park where you will be allocated a guide to brief you about the do’s and don’ts while with the chimps and you then head for chimpanzee tracking in the forest which is the primate capital of east Africa because of the high primate population it has including the chimpanzee man’s closest primate and many other primates like monkeys plus a number of bird species.
You will get chance to have your lunch in the wild as you listen to the sights and sounds of the forest. After tracking, you will return to the park headquarters, relax a bit and head to the Bigodi wetlands to reward birders and visit the Bigodi community for community tourism and later return to your lodge.
Meals and overnight at chimpanzee guest house (budget), crater safari lodge (mid-range), Kyaninga lodge (luxury).

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park – Afternoon Launch Cruise
Pick up early morning from your lodge after a cup of coffee and drive off for Kasese home of Queen Elizabeth national park. The drive 1–2hour drive will take you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside. Have a game drive on arrival and later drive to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon head out for a 2 hours’ launch cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will see large concentrations of wildlife along the banks of the river like hippos, elephants, buffaloes, a large number of bird species.

Later return to your hotel for Dinner and overnight at; Enganzi Lodge (budget), Marafiki safari lodge (midrange) and Mweya safari lodge (luxury).

Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Bwindi national park
Rise up early in the morning have breakfast and go for an early morning game drive to catch the early risers in the Kasenyi Sector of the park. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs and quite a number of other species as you continue moving out of the park where you will have an en-route lunch and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park home to the endangered mountain gorillas with 12 habituated gorilla groups. The journey goes through the Ishasha sector famous for Tree-Climbing lions.

Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs or Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury), Silverback Lodge (Midrange)/Buhoma Community Bandas (Budget).

 Day 5: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa visit
Wake up very early in the morning and prepare for the Gorilla Tracking activity as you move with your lunch boxes to the park headquarters where you will get incites about the do’s and don’ts while with the gorillas in the jungle. There are always park guides with you who interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. In the evening, you may go for cultural walk to Batwa community. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive – Departure
Have breakfast at your lodge in the morning and set off for your journey to Kampala via the beautiful scenery of kigezi highlands and hit the road for departure from where you will have a stop in masaka at the equator for a hot lunch and photo shoots as you proceed for your drop off at the airport to catch your departure flight.
