8 Days Uganda – Rwanda safari

Day 1: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

The Adventure Safaris Uganda staff guide will pick you from your in Uganda to depart from Kampala by road and drive you through Uganda’s lush beautiful countryside. Have a stop over at the Equator for an informative talk and photos, and continue to Mbarara where you will stop for lunch. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park and a game drive en route is rewarding with vistas of animals like Antelopes, birds, Elephants, among others.  Arrive in the afternoon to explore the fascinating Queen Elizabeth’s charming crater lakes sector. Day 2: Wildlife Tour and Kazinga Channel boat trip

Take an early morning game drive to watch the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. This provides excellent opportunities to see elephants, lions, Leopards, Giant forest Hogs, Cape Buffaloes, Uganda Kob, Topi and Bush bucks and many more.
After lunch, enjoy a cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which joins Lake Edward and Lake George. This waterway is filled with schools of hippos and buffalos. Elephants are often spotted on the banks.Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, after transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. As you drive along the road via Ishasha sector, animals such as the waterbucks, elephant, antelopes, buffalo, Kobs, can be seen along the road. This sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park gives you opportunities to encounter tree climbing lions. Dinner and over night at the lodge

Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking

A trek though one of Africa’s most ancient rainforest, in search of the endangered mountain gorilla, ranks among the world’s premier wildlife encounters.
Take early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before you move along the park trails tracking the gorillas. After the briefing from the authorities of the park, set off for the trekking into the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding Virunga Volcanoes. Gorilla tracking is a captivating and unforgettable experience which more than repays the effort needed to reach Bwindi and to trek through the forest. The walk will be informative providing information about the gorillas and other primates. Make sure you carry with you packed lunch and water. The time taken to encounter these peaceful primates is unpredictable. Nevertheless, on encounter, one may be forced to say, it is stunning. After tracking you may decide to take a community guided walk that visits rural homesteads, blacksmith, traditional healers and brewers. This is an ideal village walk to see how Ugandans live. Return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge

Day 6:Transfer to Rwanda

You will have breakfast in the morning to Proceed through the rolling hills and beautiful scenery to Rwanda. Later transfer to Kinigi, the home of mountain gorillas, passing through magnificent views of the beautiful, hilly countryside which gives Rwanda its name as “a country of a thousand hills”. Dinner and overnight at Mt Gorilla Nest Lodge or Kinigi Guest House.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Parc National des Volcans

Go gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest of the Virunga is a wonderful experience. Although the hike is physically demanding, the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile. After tracking the gorillas, return to your lodge for lunch. Some gorilla families however are more elusive, and tracking can take a full day. If the gorilla tracking ends early enough, you will trek to Karisoke Research Centre of Dian Fossey, the famous primatologist, or visit local communities Dinner and Overnight at your lodge.

Day 7: Rwanda – Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, leave for Lake Bunyonyi. This large and inconsistently shaped lake lies at an altitude of approximately 2000m, where it follows the curves of the hilly terrain that detaches the towns of Kabale and Kisoro. It is a very lovely spot, dotted with small islands and banded by steeped terraced hills. You will arrive in the afternoon and go for an evening Boat ride. Day 8: Lake Bunyonyi Kampala

After breakfast, we will depart to Kampala arriving in the late evening.
